The tragedy that befell the group of fans at the Colorado premiere is saddening and our prayers and sympathies go out for you. With that being said, there is still buzz and hype going around the most anticipated film of the year, The Dark Knight Rises. So, does the film live up to its hype? Is it better then The Dark Knight? Hell, is this the best Batman film made? The Dark Knight Rises is a beautiful, tragic, epic, brilliant and astonishing powerhouse of plot, character and action.
With The Dark Knight Rises now playing, just before the epic finale starts, we’re given another quick treat: The first trailer for the new Superman reboot, Man of Steel, is shown just before the start of the film. The Dark Knight Rises creative helm Christopher Nolan, along with co-writer David Goyer, wrote the screenplay for the film. Nolan is also the producer of the film, and is being directed by Zack Snyder.
My opinion: I’m honestly not sure what to make of it. It looks Snyder is trying to imitate both Nolan and Terrance Malick in the visual aesthetic, feel, and in the cinematography. Not to mention the end of it copies Iron Man’s trailer, when Iron Man flies in the sky and breaks the sound barrier. It looks interesting, don’t get me wrong. But if Snyder is trying to copy-cat Nolan’s apporach and visual style, then Nolan should’ve directed it. We all know that, so far, he can’t make a bad film, the same can’t be said about Snyder (Sucker Punch, anyone? – lol) But we’ll see how it goes as time goes on and the more we see, until the film’s released. It’s scheduled to be released on June 14th, 2013. The film stars Henry Cavill as Superman, Russell Crowe, Kevin Costner, Diane Lane, Michael Shannon, Amy Adams and Laurence Fishburne.
Below, are the two alternate versions of the trailers. Both feature voice-overs, however, one is from Russell Crowe, the other is from Kevin Costner: Can you tell which one?
This weekend, we are getting the most highly anticipated film of the summer being released, The Dark Knight Rises. This is the last film of Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Unfortunately, some tragedy has already occurred.
The latest trailer for the highly anticipated finale to Christopher Nolan’s Batman trilogy. Here we get more Catwoman, more Bane, and a little more action. Yet, one might feel, these trailers still feel more like teasers, then fully giving us all the goodies. Tell us what you think.
