I’ve said it many times before and I’ll say it again: someone is going to come out and talk about their opinions regarding the growing attention and trend of EDM. Now, it’s Former LCD Soundsystem frontman James Murphy. Murphy has little patience for the current trend of dance music in the States.
According to an official announcement by Live Nation Entertainment on Monday, they stated that they set a record in 2013 for annual revenue and operating income. They earned an estimated revenue of $6.5 billion and operating income rose of $140 million.
Here’s there official statement: “We increased both attendance and attendance per show at every type of venue, from theaters and clubs to amphitheaters to arenas and stadiums, showing the consistent strength of our business. We are also seeing this growth across all genres of music, with country music delivering the greatest fan growth, up 2.3 million fans to nearly 7 million, increasing 50 percent from last year.”

Yes, it’s true. Again, he’s not officially becoming an ambassador to Brazil. Yet, according to Mixmag, Fatboy Slim’s new album Fatboy Slim Presents Bem Brasil, will be released ahead of the World Cup, and will feature a distinct Brazilian flavour.
“Given my love of Brazilian music, parties and football it is no surprise that with the World Cup happening this year I want to share that love by providing a soundtrack for the summer, based on Brazilian music.”
